“We had one number. They found rot under the bay and had it priced and sorted before we’d even worried.”

How a renovation actually runs

Ten stages, in this order.
Miss one and everything waits.

On most jobs, keeping that sequence moving quietly becomes the customer’s second job — chasing the sparky so the plasterer can start, standing in for a delivery, explaining trade four to trade five. Here it is ours. Every single stage below.

The same room, twice.

Every one of these was a room somebody had given up on. Drag the handle across.

Why people pick us

The difference is what you don’t have to do.

One number, not nine

You ring Chris or Mark. Every trade, delivery, skip and inspection behind that is ours to book, chase and pay. You never hold a schedule.

The electrician is an owner

Mark runs the electrical side in-house. Electrics dictate the order of a renovation, so having that trade on the inside is why our programmes hold when other people's slip.

A programme before you commit

You get a written week-by-week schedule before you sign anything — including the days you'll have no kitchen or no water, so you can plan around them.

Fixed price, written down

One quote covering everything. If something genuinely unexpected turns up behind a wall, you get the price and the options in writing before we touch it.

Finish-obsessed, not just fitted

Chris built his name on media walls, where a two-millimetre reveal is the whole job. That standard runs through everything — the tiling, the joinery, the last coat.

Your house, handed back clean

Dust barriers, protected floors, a tidy site at the end of every day, and a proper clean at handover. It's still somewhere you live while we're in it.

What clients say

Nobody mentions the tiling first.

They mention the Friday phone call, the schedule that held, and the price at the end matching the price at the start.

We'd renovated before and it nearly finished us off — we spent every evening chasing somebody. This time we had one number, and Chris rang us every Friday whether there was news or not. We came back to a finished house.

Full house renovation · Skipton

Three firms quoted. Only Skipton Renovations came back with a drawing and a date. The steel, the council, the engineer — none of it ever landed on us. The price at the end was the price at the start.

Priya M.

Kitchen renovation · Ilkley

Mark explained the tanking to me twice because I asked twice, and never once made me feel daft for asking. They sent photographs of every stage before it got covered up.

Level-access wet room · Settle

Two other builders told us to stick the telly on the chimney breast and get on with it. Chris looked at the room for twenty minutes and drew something completely different. You can't see a single wire.

Lee T.

Media wall · Keighley

I gave them a date I had to reopen on and they hit it. The certificates were on my desk the day I got my keys back, which has never happened to me before.

Sam B.

Salon fit-out · Skipton

We both work from home and I thought it'd be unbearable. They gave us a sheet on day one saying which mornings would be noisy, and stuck to it. I took calls all the way through.

Getting started

Four steps, and only one of them is yours.

You don’t need drawings, measurements or a settled budget to start. Most people ring us about one room they’ve stopped liking.

  1. 01

    Tell us what's annoying you

A call or a message with rough ideas is plenty. You don't need drawings, measurements or a fixed budget — most people start with a room they've stopped liking.

  2. 02

    We come and measure

A proper survey, not a five-minute look round. We check what's behind the walls, flag anything we suspect will bite, and talk through what's realistic.

  3. 03

You get a price and a programme

One fixed price covering every trade, and a week-by-week schedule with your completion date on it. Take as long as you like over it.

  4. 04

We run it, you live your life

We book everyone, order everything and update you every Friday whether there's news or not. You get a finished room, a clean house and your certificates.

Straight answers

The things people ask before they ring.

Something not covered? Ask us directly — we’ll give you a straight answer, even when it’s “that’s not us”.

Do you really organise every trade?

Yes — that's the whole business. Electrician, plumber, gas engineer, plasterer, joiner, tiler, flooring fitter, decorator, skips, deliveries and any inspections. You get one quote, one schedule and one person to ring. You don't book anyone and you don't pay anyone but us.

How much does a renovation cost?

It depends far too much on the room and the spec for a number here to be honest. What we can promise is that after a survey you get one fixed written price covering everything, not a day rate and a shrug. Most people are surprised in both directions, and we'd rather you found out for free.

Do you charge for a quote?

No. The survey and the written quote are free, and there's no obligation attached to either.

How far do you travel?

Skipton and the surrounding Dales is home, and we regularly work in Ilkley, Keighley, Settle, Grassington, Harrogate and across North and West Yorkshire. If you're not sure, ring and ask.

Can we live in the house while you work?

Often yes, and we'll be straight with you about when it isn't sensible. Room-by-room phasing keeps a lot of families in place. A full rewire and replaster genuinely doesn't, and we'd rather say so at quote stage than halfway through.

Are you insured and certified?

Yes. We carry public liability insurance and will send the certificate with your quote. All electrical work is carried out to BS 7671, certified and notified where required, and gas work is done by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Every certificate goes in your handover pack.

What happens if you find something unexpected?

In older houses it happens — rot, a wall that isn't supported, wiring that shouldn't be there. You get a photograph, a price and the options in writing, usually within a day. We don't do the work first and invoice you after.

Can you fit a kitchen or bathroom I've already bought?

Yes, and we do it often. Send us the plan and the unit list and we'll price the fit and everything around it.

Ready when you are

Tell us about the room you've stopped liking.

A call, a message or the form — whichever suits. The survey and the written quote are free, and nothing about them commits you to anything.
