This is the work the business was set up for. A whole house is not a big version of one room — it is a sequence problem, where a plasterer arriving two days early costs a fortnight. We hold the programme so you do not have to.
You will not be chasing anyone
The single most common thing people tell us about their last renovation is that they became the project manager by accident. Chasing the electrician to come back for second fix, explaining to the plasterer what the joiner did, standing in for deliveries. That is the job we take. You have one number, and everything behind it is our problem to solve.
A programme you can actually plan around
Before work starts you get a week-by-week programme. It says when the scaffolding goes up, when the power is off, when the house is uninhabitable if it is going to be, and when you get your keys back to a finished home. It changes sometimes — old houses hide things — but when it changes you hear it from us the same day, not three weeks later.
Old Yorkshire houses, honestly assessed
A lot of what we work on around Skipton and the Dales is solid stone, lath and plaster, and previous owners' good intentions. We survey properly before we price, and where we suspect something is hiding — damp behind a boxed-in wall, a beam that was notched to death for a pipe run — we say so in the quote instead of discovering it as a variation halfway through.
Questions we get asked
Can we live in the house during the work?
Sometimes, and we will be straight with you about it. Room-by-room phasing lets a lot of families stay put. A full rewire and replaster genuinely does not, and we would rather tell you that at quote stage than halfway through.
How do payments work on a big job?
Staged payments against completed milestones, agreed in writing before we start. You never pay for work that has not happened.
Do you do extensions and structural work?
Our speciality is internal renovation. We do structural alterations internally — removing walls, forming openings, steels with the right calculations and sign-off. For a full external extension we will tell you honestly whether we are the right firm.
